Fitting Security Lock Barrels
It might come as a surprise to you that upvc doors are not always all that secure.
The video clip here shows how easily a standard euro cylinder can be tampered with to gain entry.
The good news however that a high security lock mechanism can easily be fitted to existing doors.
This can be done for a modest fee. The higher security locks do not stick out from the handles thus meaning you can’t grasp them with a wrench or grips. They also have an anti snap mechanism inside which means if the outer section of the barrel is tampered with the barrel end comes away and access is not gained.
If you have several upvc locks you may wish to have them keyed alike so one key opens several locks. This would also mean that you would need less spare keys. The upgraded barrels come with spare keys but extra replacement keys bought at a later date are quite expensive.
